Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.
Tanya Ellison - (27/08/06)

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.
Andrea How - (19/02/06)

AMSTERDAM - a tribute to the hospitable past

Just as it is today, with millions of visitors arriving in the city on an Amsterdam city break, the 17th-century city was a popular holiday destination. At this time Amsterdam was at the height of its power and offered hospitality, exotic wares, art, culture, countless inns and taverns, concert halls and pleasure houses to visitors from around Europe.  Our Amsterdam city guide tells you more.

This new exhibition lets you walk around in the shoes of your 17th-century predecessors and provides all necessary information about going out, shopping, eating out, hotels and sights. Books, guides, prints and objects from the library's substantial Golden Age collection provide a realistic impression of daily life, entertainment and the tourist experience way back when. It’s a remarkable collection and quite humbling to think that our Amsterdam mp3 tour is just the latest version.
