Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.
Tanya Ellison - (27/08/06)

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.

BERLIN - The currywurst is honoured at last

With our love of steak and kidney pie and deep fried Mars bar we British are hardly ones to scoff (if you’ll pardon the pun) at any other nation’s menu but the German Currywurst is something that even we can be rude about.

As you’ll know if you’ve visited Berlin, it’s basically pork sausage fried and sliced and it’s served in hundreds of kiosks and fast food joints smeared with ketchup and sprinkled with curry power.

Now the famous Currywurst has a whole museum dedicated to it.  At the Deutches Currywurst Museum you can learn about the history of this much maligned piece of German gastronomy, enter the Spice Chamber to see how that curry power is made and even get a picture of yourself at an authentic Currywurst street stand.
