Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.

FLORENCE - See the normally never seen at the Uffizi

The Uffizi’s I Mai Vesti event (literally the Never Seen) offers a great opportunity to view some of the works of this great gallery that are not normally on display.  Our guide to Florence tells you the history of the Uffizi and offers advice on the best way to see it.

This, the ninth such exhibition, focuses on an unknown painting which is displayed for the first time to the  public.  The portrait of a Bolognese physician called Alessandro Achillini, was painted during a 16th-century by Amico Aspertini.
The five sections of this show present portraits of famous men in the world of culture, science and history of countries other than Italy.  They include the curious paintings by Cristofano dell'Altissimo, who copied works by Paolo Giovio on the orders of Cosimo I to adorn the Sala del Mappamondo of Palazzo Vecchio.
You can see the virtual reconstruction of this hall, just as Cosimo intended it to be, thanks to the great work by the Multimedia Laboratory of the Institute and the Museum of the History of Science.

The exhibit also boasts a rich graphic and video system, besides an educational workshop created especially for children.
