Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.

LONDON - New photography exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery

E.O. Hoppé (1878-1972) was one of the most celebrated portrait photographers of his day, as well as a brilliant landscape and travel photographer.  Now Hoppé’s work is the subject of a major exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Among the hundreds of well-known figures he photographed were George Bernard Shaw, H.G. Wells, A.A. Milne, T.S. Eliot, G.K. Chesterton, Leon Bakst, Vaslav Nijinsky and the dancers of the Ballets Russes, and Queen Mary, King George, and members of the Royal Family.  His strikingly modernist portraits describe a virtual Who’s Who of important personalities in the arts, literature, and politics in Great Britain and the US between the wars.

Sometimes overshadowed by its larger neighbour, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery doesn’t necessary feature highly on the to do and see of everyone on weekend break to London but it is included in our London mp3 tour and it’s well worth a visit.
