Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.
Tanya Ellison - (27/08/06)

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.

NICE - Jazz Festival Starts in July

The Nice Jazz Festival starts on 24th July and if you’re lucky enough to be doing a Nice city break or taking your holidays in the south of France around this time you’re in for a treat.
Acts include Earth Wind and Fire, Al Jarreau and James Hunter.  Gigs take place around the city, often in the open air.
As we explain in our Nice mp3 guide, jazz actually has an important place in the history of Nice. .  Nice has always had close associations with Jazz.  It was brought over by American soldiers in the First World War and embraced by local singers and musicians.  During World War II Jazz was condemned by the Nazi occupiers as degenerate music and so for many young Niçois it became a symbol of the resistance.
Ever since there have been jazz clubs dotted around the city and you’ll walk past some of them with our Nice iPod tour.  As part of Nice city break or holiday in Nice you must visit one of these little jazz bars or cafes or, better still head for one of the open air concerts taking place in the Nice Jazz festival.
