Our Guides

Florence
We only had a long weekend to do the city and so your tour really helped us get our bearings. There's just so much to see there! I know we only scraped the surface but it worked really well for us.

Venice
This was a great tour that took you everywhere you needed to go. Particularly liked the walk through of the mosaic frescoes on the front of the Basilica. We had a great time in Venice, made all the more special by this evocative guide. Like the speaker's voice too - one of the best I've listened to.

VENICE - Biennale 2009

The 53rd Venice Biennale is entitled Fare Mondi or Making Worlds.  Scattered around various locations throughout Venice, this year’s exhibition is, according to its director Daniel Birnbaum, is all about “the process of creation.”
Birnbaum says: “Taking 'worldmaking' as a starting point…allows the exhibition to highlight the fundamental importance of certain key artists for the creativity of successive generations, just as much as exploring new spaces for art to unfold outside the institutional context and beyond the expectations of the art market. Fare Mondi/ Making Worlds is an exhibition driven by the aspiration to explore worlds around us as well as worlds ahead. It is about possible new beginnings—this is what I would like to share with the visitors of the Biennale.”
The total exhibition space will be enlarged this year and Yoko Ono will be awarded a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
Since its foundation in 1895, the Venice Biennale has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends.  It consists of the International Film Festival, for the International Art Exhibition and the International Architecture Exhibition, the Festival of Contemporary Music and Theatre.  These are now joined by the Festival of Contemporary Dance.

The Biennale takes place at various locations in Venice from June 7th to November 22nd 2009.
